Beyonce’ fans everywhere are awaiting the release of her 4th studio album. Bey has already begun working on the first single “Girls” which is slotted to be released this summer.

“The theme of “Girl” is like a female empowerment/girl power type of song that is a definite club banger with Top 40/Worldly appeal. The beat is driven by a sample of a popular club song that a lot of you will probably recognize. There’s a breakdown in the song that is described as absolutely f*cking disgustingly sick!”

Nicki Minaj was recently featured in a digital short for Saturday Night Live. She performed a hilarious skit with Andy Samberg and other cast members. This skit is true to Nicki’s brand of being full of characters and elaborately taking on a particular persona. She also was featured in another skit and she performed her hit single, “Right thru me.” Even though Minaj’s career continues to elevate, the starlet still can’t believe she’s on SNL.

“Being a part of ‘Saturday Night Live’ feels absolutely incredible. I still don’t even believe it’s true, I’m not even going to believe it’s really happening until — well, I’m going to DVR it, because I can’t watch it, because I’ll be on it,” she said. “But until I see it back on DVR, I’m not even going to believe I was really on the show. This is epic, this is monumental, this is historic stuff.” Minaj says in an interview with MTV.

Did your favorite movie make the cut?

Super Bowl XLV will be the 45th meeting in American football. The game will consist of the NFC (National Football Conference) champion and the AFC (American Football Conference) champion. The game will take place on February 6th at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The NFC champions are the Green Bay Packers. The Packers beat the Chicago Bears 21-14 to advance to the Super Bowl. The Packers finished the season with a 10-6 record and advanced to their 6th Super Bowl in the history of the franchise.

The AFC champions are the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers beat the New York Jets 24-19 to advance to the Super Bowl. The Steelers finished the season with a 12-4 record and advanced to their 8th Super Bowl tying with the Dallas Cowboys for the most Super Bowl appearances.

Super Bowl XLV will be on February 6th with kickoff starting at 5:25 p.m. CST on Fox. Christina Aguilera will sing the national anthem and The Black Eyed Peas will perform during halftime. This should be a thrilling event with great performers and an exciting game between two very good teams.

Who do you think will win?

With talk of potential 2012 presidential candidates swarming the media, Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani says that he might consider running as well. According to CNN, Giuliani says he’s more likely to run for president if former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin runs. Giuliani dropped out of the 2008 Republican presidential primary and said that the 2012 GOP nomination would portray him as a moderate Republican.

“The more Republicans in which I can show a contrast, probably the better chance, the better chance that I have,” says Giuliani. If he does decide to run, he says his main focus will be on winning Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina which are the sites of the first presidential nominating contests.

Giuliani also discusses the lack of a Republican frontrunner. “There is no obvious frontrunner right now. I guess everybody is happy with that, because nobody wants to be the frontrunner at this point because it always seems the frontrunner gets all the attention, all of the negative publicity.”

As election year gets closer, more potential candidates will appear in hopes of becoming president. We’ll find out soon enough who will enter the 2012 race and I’m sure the revelations will be very interesting for both Democrats and Republicans.

If you love the MTV hit show “Jersey Shore” and especially characters Snooki and Jwoww, well you’re in for some great news. As reported by TMZ, Snooki and Jwoww are shooting a pilot show this weekend for a spin-off to their hit show “Jersey Shore.” The pilot will be shot in Long Island and will show the girls just being themselves. They have become well-known for their hair and all the drama that follows them that they could possibly get another hit show.

As with most celebrities, they experience the pregnancy rumor from time to time. This time, the focus is on the beautiful actress Gabrielle Union. Rumors about her and boyfriend Dwyane Wade having a child have been circulating around the internet.

As reported by Global Grind, Union explains why she won’t have a baby bump anytime soon: 

“No, I am not pregnant and please let the world know I will only be pregnant after I am married, and that will be years from now. I want to play roles that let me wear a bikini and run around like a badass! LOL It’s kinda hard to do all that with a baby bump! When erroneous reports of pregnancy pop up for different actors or artists, that can stop us from getting work…it’s hard enough in this recession trying to find a job without our own people putting up unnecessary roadblocks for us to feed our families.”

There you have it! Gabrielle doesn’t want kids anytime soon because she wants to continue to play the dangerous and sexy characters that she plays so well!

Donald Trump recently went on the Jimmy Fallon show in order to announce the cast members of the 11th season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. This season will include 16 celebrities competing for the charity of their choice.  The list includes: Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes, rapper/producer Lil’ Jon, the winner of the first season of Survivor Richard Hatch, former “Partridge Family” star David Cassidy, singer La Toya Jackson, actor Gary Busey, rock star Meatloaf, country singer John Rich, Sugar Ray’s lead singer Mark McGrath, actress Marlee Matlin, supermodel Niki Taylor, Playboy Playmate Hope Dworaczyk, former major league baseball player Jose Canseco, actress Lisa Rinna, former singer and host of the Psychic Friends Network Dionne Warwick, and former “View” host Star Jones.

Although the cast consists of an array of amazing celebrities, one celebrity will not be on the roster. Trump reportedly turned down Lindsay Lohan’s request to be on the new season of Celebrity Apprentice. Trump denied Lohan’s request because he felt it’s not the right time for her to appear on the show. He feels that she should take care of herself first. Furthermore, Trump goes on to say that it could happen in the future, but as of right now, she needs to straighten herself out first, as reported in Life & Style Weekly.

This new season is destined to be one of the most exciting and drama filled seasons yet. Due to the diverse cast, the show should be filled with tons of surprises. The new season of Celebrity Apprentice will premiere Sunday, March 6th at 9/8c on NBC.

Today marks the legacy of a great and inspirational man. Martin Luther King Jr. was a pivotal leader in the civil rights movement, political activist, Baptist minister, and he is remembered for his remarkable and influential ”I Have a Dream” speech. In 1964, he became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end racial segregation and discrimination. He was a proponent of nonviolent actions in order to promote peace instead of retaliating in violent manners like most of the people who were against him and his movement.

In 1955, King led the Montgomery Bus Boycott which lasted a little over a year. The boycott became very violent and even resulted in King’s housed being bombed by opposers of the movement. King was eventually arrested during this campaign, but the District Court ruled to end racial segregation on Montgomery public buses. Later in 1957, King and other supporters established the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). The group was founded as a controlling body that organizes black churches to promote and conduct non-violent protests in support of the civil rights movement.

On August 28, 1963, King organized the March on Washington. The march initially was focused on jobs and working conditions of black Americans in the South. But as it went on, the march demanded an end to racial segregation in public schools, valuable and significant civil rights legislation, and protection of civil rights workers from police brutality were among a few of the demands. King’s March on Washington and his pivotal “I Have a Dream” speech put civil rights at the top of the political agenda and eventually led to the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

On April 4, 1968, Dr. King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1977, he was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Jimmy Carter. In 1986, Martin Luther King Day was established as a United States holiday. Ever since MLK Day was established as a holiday, people all over the world celebrate his legacy and continue to be thankful for all of the work he has done. Without his work during the civil rights movement, many of us would not be able to live normal lives or have the opportunity to pursue our dreams. Dr. King gave us freedom and unity in a once divided nation and we continue to thank him for all he has done for us.

Today the Princess of R&B known as Aaliyah Dana Haughton would have turned 32 years old. Sadly, she died August 25th, 2001 in a tragic airplane crash which also killed 8 other people in the Bahamas. Although, her life was taken at such an early age, 22, she still had the time to leave such an amazing mark on music. At the age of 12, she signed with Jive Records and began to put work in on her first album titled Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number which was released in 1994. This album included help from mentor R. Kelly who produced a few tracks on the album. This album featured two popular hits “Back and Forth” and “At your best (you are love).

In 1996, Aaliyah left Jive and signed with Atlantic Records. This is where she met popular record producers Timbaland and Missy Elliot both of which helped with her second album One in a Million. This album included popular tracks such as “One in a Million,” “If your girl only knew,” “The one I gave my heart to,” and “4 page letter” just to name a few.

In addition to doing songs for her albums, she also worked with the soundtrack for the movie Dr. Dolittle. The song “Are you that somebody?” was released in 1998 and became a major hit all around the world. Aaliyah is also well known for being an amazing dancer which is showcased in the video for “Are you that somebody?” with choreography by Fatima Robinson.

In July of 2001, Aaliyah released her third and final album self-titled Aaliyah. This album included popular songs such as “I care 4 U,” “More than a woman,” “Rock the boat,” and “We need a resolution.” The video for “Rock the boat” was filmed in the Bahamas and was the last video from Aaliyah. She and 8 others were involved in a fatal plane crash on the way back to the United States.

Although Aaliyah has passed, her legacy and her music will live on for decades to come. She truly made a mark on music and has inspired so many artists in today’s society.
